The study of social welfare is a kind of applied science to solve a series of social problems that happen in modern society and to develop social welfare on the basis of pure social science. The study of social welfare also requires a comprehensive understanding and research not only on the human behavior and environment but also on a variety of social system closely related to social welfare. The goal of our department is above all attaining the very purpose of practical science through various theoretical education covering the policy, administration, and the practice of social welfare, and through practical field training, and ultimately raising professional social workers based on Christian spirit. Students are also able to get the second-grade-certificates of social workers when they graduate from the school, and the first-grade-certificates through the state examination. They can also get a certificate of kindergarten worker or a juvenile guidance teacher by taking relevant courses or examinations. After graduation students can be employed in all sorts of relevant institutions or organizations such as local Social Welfare Center, Social insurance company, Consultant office for seniors, the handicapped, juveniles, teenagers and female, and mental hygienic center etc. They can be also expert civil servants who are in charge of social welfare or social workers who works for an enterprise or a Christian organization.
